My work is built around bright color, movement, layers, and experimentation. I work across canvas, reclaimed materials, and vinyl records, using different tools and techniques to create pieces that are energetic, unpredictable, and different from one another.
I am especially influenced by abstract expressionism and action painting, including the work of Jackson Pollock and Gerhard Richter. I use brushes, rollers, palette knives, pouring, scraping, and other techniques depending on the piece. I like strong contrast, unusual color combinations, and the balance between controlling a piece and letting part of it happen naturally.
I taught myself by studying composition, color theory, and design, then spent years experimenting with materials and techniques and developing my own approach to abstract work.
I do not work in one specific style. I work across a wide range of abstract styles and techniques, which gives clients more freedom when choosing what they want for a commissioned piece. I can adjust the colors, style, and approach to fit the individual piece instead of trying to force every project into the same look. I also enjoy learning new techniques and continuing to expand the range of work I can create.
A lot of my work is meant to give you something to explore. I sometimes describe it as a vacation for your brain. There does not need to be one correct interpretation. You might see movement, shapes, landscapes, figures, or something completely different from what someone else sees.
I also care about making original art accessible. That is where the idea behind Art for Everyone comes from. I make work in different sizes, on different materials, and at different price points so owning original art does not have to feel exclusive or out of reach.
For me, the goal is pretty simple. Make interesting art, keep experimenting, and create pieces people actually want to live with.
